Exploration Projects Overview
Hannans commenced exploration activities in Western Australia in 2002. Western Australia is the worlds #1 exploration & mining jurisdiction, and hence attracting global attention as the demand increases for high-quality products from jurisdictions with high environmental and social governance standards. Hannans will leverage its Western Australian exploration expertise to facilitate new discoveries capable of sustainably supplying the metals demanded by society.
Hannans strategy is to explore in both producing regions and in new and emerging provinces at the margin of the Yilgarn Craton, and currently holds 1,179km2 of tenure over three exploration projects within the world-class and emerging jurisdictions:
- Forrestania Project: located 120km east of Perth, the 203km2 Ni-Li-Au Project is centred on the well-endowed Forrestania Greenstone Belt which hosts some of the worlds highest-grade nickel mines as well as world-class lithium and gold deposits including the adjacent high-grade Flying Fox and Spotted Quoll mines, +1million ounce Bounty Gold Mine and Earl Grey Lithium deposit. The Project encompasses a combined 65km strike of nickel-bearing ultramafic units and remains largely under-explored.
- Fraser Range: located 100km east of Norseman, the 87km2 Ni-Cu-PGE Project covers metamorphosed rocks of the Fraser Range Domain similar to the host at the proximal Nova-Bollinger Mine, hence the Project is considered prospective for nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation related to mafic-ultramafic intrusions.
- Moogie Project: located 270km east of Carnarvon, the 889km2 Ni-Cu-Au-REE Project covers deep-seated structures proximal to Yilgarn Craton margin. Exploration is at an early stage, however much encouragement is gained from outcropping Cu-oxide mineralisation and drill-ready EM conductors. REE potential is being investigated in areas of elevated Th response and Hannans will seek to replicate recent proximal exploration and development success in this emerging REE province.
